The Purpose of CCFC is to provide good nutritious food to its members and to support a local food network. Secondarily, the CCFC will provide an outlet for the same to the residents of the Nassau, NY area. The CCFC will attempt to use the concept of Harvest Kitchens to provide opportunities for the CCFC and its members to preserve the harvest. This will include the purchase of locally grown organic and conventionally grown vegetables and fruit. Meat and dairy products will be sourced locally. The CCFC recognizes that all foods cannot be sourced locally. When foods cannot be purchased locally, the CCFC will make every attempt to purchase Fair Trade or equivalent.
